Following the launch of its biodiesel initiative last year, McDonald’s UAE is proud to announce its fleet of logistics trucks has now travelled a combined

1,301,012km running on used vegetable oil from McDonald’s outlets. The achievement highlights the benefits of biodiesel as an alternative energy source and has resulted in major reductions in the company’s carbon footprint.

McDonald’s UAE’s biodiesel campaign was launched in July 2011 with the support of Dubai FDI, the foreign investment promotion arm of the Department of Economic Development. Under this initiative, 100% used vegetable oil is collected from McDonald’s outlets across theUAE and converted into 100% biodiesel by McDonald’s cleantech partner, Neutral Fuels. The biodiesel is then used to fuel the company’s logistics fleet.
